Not the root.

Money is NOT the root of all evil.

The old saying "money is the root of all evil has outlived any honorable basis it ever had.

The roots of good and evil are simple. Love is the root of all good. Fear is the root of all evil.

Money is a modern TOOL. Evil is as ancient as human life on Earth. An effect cannot precede its cause.

Even the modified version of this myth, "[The love] of money is root of all evil" is faulty for the same reason.

Any tool can be used to do good and to strike fear. When a tool is used to strike fear, that unfortunate circumstance does not cancel out the usefulness of that tool when used for good.

A gun is a tool; it protects and kills. iPhones are tools; they connect and distract. Money is a TOOL that we can use to destroy and to serve the world.

Love of money is a good thing if the money is accumulated to serve/build up/do good.

Some people will only proclaim a strong desire for lots of money in "safe" conversations. Some people have no problem screaming out (in public) "I love money!" Unfortunately, some people say "I don't want too much money, just enough for my family."

Which one are you?

Bottom line:

Money is NOT the root of all evil.

We, money lovers, are good people, too.

Our love of money is a good thing. It is not the root of all evil. We seek to do a lot of good with a lot money.

May these truths set our love of money free!
